Joseph FISHER Obituary

April 27, 1940 – June 5, 2025

Joseph Fisher was born April 27, 1940, in Muskegon, Michigan. He was received into his adoptive parents' home, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard L. and Helen N. Fisher, on May 30, 1940, who have preceded him in death. Mr. Fisher attended St. Jean's Catholic Grade School and Muskegon Catholic Central High School, graduating in 1958. He entered the United States Air Force in 1959, retiring in Spokane, WA, in 1979, which became his permanent residence. While in the USAF, he obtained an Associate of Arts degree in Criminal Justice, an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland in 1978, and in the same year obtained his Master's Degree in Human Resource Management from Gonzaga University, Spokane, WA. Upon military retirement in 1979, he entered a business partnership with Lt. Calvin Henderson (deceased 1982), Certified Polygraph Associates, which had continued under his leadership until 2015, when he closed the business and went into retirement. Mr. Fisher was a member of the American Polygraph Association, the American Association of Police Polygraphists, the Northwest Polygraph Association, the National Rifle Association, and a lifetime member of the Spokane Rifle Club. He was also a member of the Harley-Davidson Owners Group, a frequent donor at the Inland Northwest Blood Center, and was a mentor at the Spokane County Veterans Court under the direction of the Spokane County District Court. He attended the United States Veterans' Hospital Catholic Parish in past years and, upon his death, was a member of St. Frances of Assisi Catholic Parish in Spokane, WA. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Patricia E. Fisher, and is survived by his daughter, Dana Renee Fisher.
