Joslyn CAIN Obituary
Our family sadly shares that Joslyn Amanda Cain passed from this earth during mid-summer 2025. She was born in 1978 to Dr. Randy Cain and Joy Luck-Cain, and she joined her older sister Carisse Cain as best friends and sidekicks for life.
Joslyn graduated from Lewis & Clark High School. She earned an AA from SFCC. Along the way she met many good friends and had some great adventures and experiences. She was a seasoned traveler and spent time in Australia, New Zealand, Paris, and New York as well as a couple of trips to Italy, one of her favorite places in the world.
Joslyn was a talented musician and huge part of Spokane's local punk music scene in the mid to late 90s. She played bass in the bands Surrealistic Static and F.F.A., and keyboard/vocals in Six Degrees of Separation. She played drums and formed one of the few all-female punk rock bands in Spokane, Clabberhag, with her sister. Clabberhag put out three albums together. She loved playing drums and passed that talent on to Carisse's son Ayden Eyre, also a local musician. His sister Nadyia Eyre was another light in Joslyn's life, and she shared her love of drawing and many other things with her. She loved them like they were her own children.
Since she was a little girl, Joslyn was a natural born artist. She studied art from grade school through college. Many in the Spokane area will know Joslyn as the photographer of numerous beautiful, dark and surreal scenes. She had several exhibits including one at the MAC as a rising star in the field. Some of her work has been featured on book and album covers. She was also very talented in painting, drawing, jewelry-making, writing and other multi-media arts. A truly talented and gifted artist.
Many of importance to Joslyn have gone before, including her beloved father and both sets of grandparents. She leaves behind her mother, Joy; her sister Carisse and husband Kyle Cubbage, nephews Ayden and Gus, and nieces Nadyia and Edith; as well as Stella whom she loved and helped raise. And lastly her beloved dog Alice Harriet, who was always a comfort to her.
Her many friends are invited to a memorial for our lovely Joslyn on her birthday November 12, 6:30 pm at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 4340 Whistalks Wy, Spokane, WA 99224.
