Judy HARTMAN

November 24, 1945 - October 28, 2024

Spokane - Judy Kaye (Baldwin) Hartman, 78, passed away at home October 28, 2024, in Spokane, Washington. She was born in Richland, Washington, November 24, 1945.

Judy graduated from North Central High School, where she was a member of the Red Feathers drill team and Future Nurses of America. She went on to earn her nursing credentials and served as an LPN at Deaconess Hospital. After taking a brief hiatus to start a family, she returned to Deaconess, eventually retiring as a health unit coordinator in the pediatric unit. She dearly loved the nurses, doctors and children she worked with.

As the eldest of five siblings, Judy often told how they'd walk to Nat Park to spend the day on just a couple of dollars. Her extensive Shirley Temple collection began in childhood after she had saved up enough money to purchase her first doll.

Although humble in her artistic skills, Judy sewed amazing doll clothes and a few Halloween costumes for her daughters when they were little. She was also known for her crocheted baby blankets. In her later years, she enjoyed tole painting and gardening. Judy was also a voracious reader and loved listening to jazz music. She also loved family vacations to Westport, Washington.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, George Hartman; daughter, Betsy Hartman; daughter, Tamara; "son," Brian Burkhead; beloved grandson, George Burkhead; siblings, Joanne Riepl, Carol Dingwell, David Baldwin (Tammy), and Eric Udland; sister-in-law, Mary Hartman; cousin, Susan Peterson; and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents, Shirley Udland and Dave Baldwin.

A celebration of life will be held November 23, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. at Audubon Park United Methodist Church, 3908 N. Driscoll Blvd. The family would like to thank Hospice of Spokane for their care during the past year. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Spokane.
