Judy MANNING Obituary

October 3, 1939 - May 31, 2025

With her children at her side, Judy Ruth Manning left this earth to meet her Lord Jesus in heaven on Saturday, May 31, 2025.

Judy Keiber was born October 3, 1939, in Lincoln, Nebraska, to Emil and Myrna Keiber, joining her two sisters. The family moved to Spokane in May 1941. Judy attended Sheridan and Edison elementary schools, Libby Junior High School and Lewis and Clark High School, graduating in 1957.

Judy met Don Manning in the summer of 1955; they were married July 3, 1958. They raised their three children in Spokane and then Valleyford, Washington. Judy and Don moved to La Pine, Oregon in 2018.

Judy was a proud wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and homemaker. She was a steadfast supporter of Don during his career with the Spokane County Sheriff's Office. In retirement, they traveled near and far, culminating in a road trip to the Canadian Maritime Provinces in Judy's Volkswagen Golf, loading it with souvenirs inside and out.

Judy accepted Jesus as her Lord and Savior in 1972. She was a dedicated member of Valleyford Community Church for 46 years, later attending La Pine Community Church. She played piano and taught Sunday School. She was a discussion leader for Bible Study Fellowship.

Judy was well-known for her piano-playing ability. She memorized the concert version of "Deep Purple" and played jazz and show tunes, but her great love was playing the "Old Hymns" at church and family gatherings. She was known for "adding on" to the simplest of tunes, despite not really knowing how to read music. She had a gift that she shared with the world.

Judy is survived by her children, Lisa Thompson of Ocean Shores, WA, Erin Eden of Spokane Valley, WA, and Donald Manning Jr. of La Pine, OR; grandchildren, April, Justin, Cameron, Christopher, Sarah, Luke, and Hannah; eight great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Georgia Coulston; nieces, Melinda Robertson and Robin Pearson; nephews, Paul Larson and Steve Coulston; and special friends, Dorthea Sausele and Janice Hess.

Judy was preceded by her beloved, Don (June 25, 2024); her father (1979); her mother (1990); her sisters, Lorna (2024) and Bunny (2015); and her brother-in-law, Bob Diehl (2017).

A memorial service to celebrate Judy's life will be held Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 1 pm, at La Pine Community Church, 16565 Finley Butte Rd., La Pine, Oregon. Memorial contributions may be made to La Pine Community Church, PO Box 378, La Pine, Oregon 97739; or Partners in Care, 2075 NE Wyatt Ct., Bend, Oregon 97701, in Judy's memory.

What can I say, we loved Judy. Quick with a laugh and hug.
And her piano playing, so beautiful!
She will be missed but we will see her again someday.
Love to you all
