My son, Scott Doughton, was in Karen´s first class at Balboa. Then his two sisters were also. She always spoke and was a joy to visit with.

Then Mrs. Powell was my first-grade teacher @ Balboa. I always remembered her smile. Years later, I ran into then Mrs. Worthy. I walked up to her and said I bet you don't remember me and she surprised me with knowing exactly who I was some 40+yrs later. Truly an inspiring lady who touched many lives, including a shy, 6yr old little girl.
