Kari GREEN Obituary

GREEN,
Kari Anna
(Age 61)

Kari Anna Green went to Our Lord in Heaven Monday, June 4, 2018 after a pedestrian vs. automobile accident while in a crosswalk in downtown Spokane. Born March 6, 1957 in Seattle WA, she was raised in Anchorage, AK and graduated from West Anchorage High School in 1975. Kari was a firecracker of a woman who lived fully and smiled often. She raised three children, Jacob, Luke and Ali, with her husband Joe, and did so with a sense of pride and a ridiculous sense of humor. Kari was most at home surrounded by her friends and family, with a glass of wine in her hand and a story worth telling at least twelve times. Along with Joe, Kari became a globetrotting traveler, expanding her boundaries and making new friends everywhere she went. There was never a person she couldn't make a friend or a house she couldn't make a home. Constantly in motion, Kari loved walking and she never stopped talking. A pillar of support, her family knew her to be an angel and there wasn't a person she knew who couldn't find comfort in her friendship. There was a constant smile in her eyes as she lived her life the best way possible. She took great pride in the family that she and her husband raised. Her family knows that, instead of mourning her, she would want everyone to keep smiling and live life the best way possible. "Keep the Wine Flowing". Kari is survived by her husband Joseph; sons Jacob and Luke, daughter Ali Green; sister Jill (Mike) Lyman, and her brothers Matt VanNortwick and Dan (Lora) VanNortwick. She is preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Ann VanNortwick. Her family invites everyone whose life was touched by her to her memorial service at Hennessey Funeral Home, 2203 N. Division St., Spokane on Saturday, June 9, 2018 at 11am. Private urn placement at Washington State Veterans Cemetery, 21702 W. Espanola Rd., Medical Lake, WA. Memorial contributions may be made to Panamadogrescue.com. Please share your condolences on Kari's Tribute Page at www.HennesseyFuneralHomes.com.

My daughter was in the kindergarten class at St. Thomas More where Kari was the aid. She was such a warm, friendly person who was very easy to talk to. We used to compare notes on our English Setters. She spoke often of Joe and her children and was so very proud of all of you. May God's peace be with all of you as you continue her legacy of kindness and joy that she brought to the world around her.

You exuded warmth and joy every day. Kari, you were always ready for a good laugh, meeting the neighbours and welcoming people in your home. You are dearly loved by your Panamá friends. In life you were an example as to how to live. In death, you remind us to take nothing for granted and to love well every single day. We will miss you. Love and prayers.
