Kathy WRIGHT Obituary

June 28, 1947 -

October 8, 2019

Katherine Louise Wright was born on June 28, 1947 in Los Angeles, California. She was born into an Air Force family whose travels took her to bases in Arizona, Kansas, back to California, Puerto Rico and Maine. Kath didn't care too much for Maine and took off for New York City when she was barely 17 years old - she was such a free spirit. She made a life for herself as a sales person in NYC. Dad retired from the USAF and took a job offer in Hawaii in 1966. Kath moved to Hawaii in 1972 but by 1974, she decided to move to Corvallis, Oregon. From there on up to Spokane in 1980 where she became a Realtor. Kath really loved the Spokane area, lastly settling in Deer Park on seven acres of raw beauty.

Kath was a hippie till the end. She had so much tie-dye stuff! She had lava lamps and outta sight posters, too. Her house was like a throw-back to the 1960's, in a really cool way. Kathy will be remembered for her sense of humor and sense of style.

We would like to thank the many people in the Spokane/Deer Park area that we met throughout our months of travels to and from Washington. We had the huge task of cleaning out Kath's house/garages, getting her home on the market, estate sale, etc. Many thanks to Kath's friends: Verna & Tim, Karla, Carolyn & Kay and Marcy. Also, many thanks to Sue from Real Estate Marketplace (Deer Park), Misty from Washington Mutual and Steve from Spokane Subaru.

Special thanks to Dr. Gopaluni and Cancer Care NW who treated Kath's colon cancer. And I cannot say enough about the care my sister got from the Visiting Nurse Association, Home Hospice and finally the Hospice House of Spokane. Thank you all so much for your love and kindness.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Bob Anderson. She left behind a sister and brother-in-law, Elizabeth and Chris Tye of Arlington, Texas. Two nephews and a niece.
