Kenneth McDonald Obituary

McDONALD, Kenneth C. Kenneth C. McDonald was the third child born to Cora and Cecil McDonald August 3, 1925 at Molson, WA. near the Canadian border. The family moved to Coeur d' Alene Idaho where Ken was raised near his grandparents. He was educated at Benson Poly-tech in Portland Oregon, which gave him the foundation for a career as a body and fender repairman. Ken served as a navel storekeeper at sea during WWII, after an honorable discharge he took pride in his chosen career, for him the job was never work, because he was doing what he loved, restoring and painting cars. In his lifetime Ken was a member of Dukes Auto Club and raced stock cars and motorcycles in the Spokane area. Self-employed in Spokane until health forced retirement in 2003, he moved to Moses Lake. Ken is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Orville and Omar. His sister Harriet resides in Spokane Valley and survives him. He is survived by his children Moreen, Cindy and Martin from his marriage to Ramona Conci McDonald, his stepchildren Susie, Cheryl and Cliff from his marriage to Barbara Corey McDonald. He leaves behind his wife Rosalie La Pray McDonald, daughters Ginny Mercer and Rachel Galbraith-Chapman (Charlie), to whom he is honored POPPA. A third daughter Mary Lewis (Mike) is waiting for him. He is honored Grandpa to Courtney Hill, Chelsey Nill, Abby Lewis and only grandson, Cody Lewis and great-grandson, Johnathan Hillyard. "Uncle Kenny" will be missed by his numerous nieces and nephews as well as his friends of many years, also the many young people mentored during his years in business. He was a generous happy man. Ken never met a stranger, so his friends and family remember his blue eyes, Irish smile with his stories and jokes and so he lives in the hearts of those he left behind. Ken passed away at home in the care of his wife, September 3, 2010. Father Felipe Pulido will officiate at mass September 13, 2010, 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, N. 200 Dale Rd. Moses Lake. Inurnment will follow at the Church Columbarium.
