Kevin MAHER Obituary

MAHER,
Kevin P.

Kevin P. Maher was born in St. Louis, MO. to Thomas F. and Charlene (Erwin) Maher on September 11, 1958, and passed away in Spokane on September 1, 2016. A private family memorial service was held to honor Kevin and celebrate his life on September 5th.

Kevin moved to Spokane with the family in 1964 where he fell in love with the outdoor playground here, which he immensely enjoyed throughout his entire life. As an avid skier, both snow, and water, he was heralded for his extreme skiing and acrobatic abilities. He loved the game of golf and was a staunch Cougar fan. Kevin was a fantastic cook and took great pleasure in hosting dinner parties for friends and family.

Kevin graduated from Gonzaga Prep in 1977, and later attended WSU where he studied Hotel Restaurant Management. He began his career as a manager for the Chapter 11 chain of steakhouses. His passion for real estate led him to a career in brokerage and management. He worked at The Maher Company, a commercial real estate and development firm in Spokane founded by his father, and later founded a property management company in Spokane of which he was a partner.

Kevin is survived by his daughter, Lindsay Maher; two sisters, Lauri of Sun Valley, ID, Erin of Seattle, WA; brother, Michael of Seattle and his wife, Cresey, and son Joseph. Kevin is also survived by his dear girlfriend, Mary Rambo, her daughters Nikki Racicot and Sarah Mayer, and her grandchildren Kennedy, Aspen, Queenie, and Stone. Kevin was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Char, and sister, Colleen. Our family wishes to extend our heartfelt love and sincerest gratitude to our beloved Mounsey family members for their loving comfort and support.

We will all miss Kevin's big booming laugh, great sense of humor and silly pranks, and will forever cherish our beautiful memories of him and hold him dear to our hearts.

We were so sad to hear of Kevin's passing. We have such fond memories of working with Kevin at Chapter 11 back in the old days, listening to his laugh and laughing at his pranks and sense of humor. He was such a hard worker and fun to be around. What a great family too. Rest in peace Kevin.

The Mahers were one of dear friends. Kevin was the "big" brother of my best childhood friend Erin. I have fond memories of the Mahers and am so sad to hear of Kevin's passing. Love to the family.

Condolences from the Fennessy Family. I got to know the Maher family through mutual friends (Barbers, Murphys Mounseys, McWilliams, Greens, Costons, etc.). Then I was lucky enough to live across the fence from Tom and Charlene. Our thoughts and prayers are for Kevin and his family today.
