Kevin Bruce McKee passed away on Sunday at age 66. Kevin was born in Spokane, Washington, to Bill and Jacci McKee. He attended Lewis and Clark High School and Gonzaga Preparatory School. His adventures brought him to Alaska, where he spent a couple years as a King Crab fisherman. The job was a good fit for his calm under pressure and love of the sea.
Kevin settled back in Spokane, and a fortunate encounter at Papagayo's one Cinco de Mayo brought him to the love of his life, Sandra. They built a real estate and property management business together. After 40 years in real estate, he knew everything there is to know about transforming dilapidated old houses into beautiful homes. He spent his last day working on his passion project, his Priest Lake cabin, where he spent joyful summers with family and friends.
Kevin was a man of fierce integrity, loyalty, generosity, and courage. He had a brilliant and creative mind, a booming laugh, and a mischievous sense of humor. He was happiest at the wheel of his boat, behind his barbecue, and finding ways to surprise and delight his beloved wife, kids, and grandkids. His passing is a great loss to his wife of 32 years, Sandra; his kids, Gavin (m. Heather), Patrick, and Elizabeth (m. Jared); his grandkids, Aubree, Griffin, and Bethany; and to his mother, siblings, nieces, nephews, and the many family members and friends who loved him well. He will be united in Christ with his dad.
A funeral mass will be held in his honor at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 28, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 3720 E. Colbert Road, with a reception to follow at the church. Mourners are also invited to join in a rosary before the funeral mass at 10:30 am.
