Larry HOOK Obituary

HOOK, Larry L.
(Age 73)

Died in his sleep on September 24th while a surgery rehab patient at Good Samaritan Health Care Center.
Larry was born in Oklahoma in 1943 to George and Madalin Hook. He followed older brother, Jerry. The Hook family soon relocated to Ticoa, WA outside of Spokane where Larry spent his formative years.
Larry married Patricia Burkhartsmeier in 1967; during their 37 year marriage, they raised a son, Troy, and daughter, Tanya.
In 1980, Larry began a 30 year career in real estate with the Washington State Dept. of Transportation. He transferred from the Spokane office to Yakima in 1998 to accept the position of District 5 Real Estate Services Manager. He served in that position until his retirement in 2010.
Larry is survived by his brother, Jerry (Jacque) Hook of Baltimore, MD; his two children, Troy Hook, Spokane, and Tanya (Kyle) Silcox, Battleground, WA; and their two children, Laney, 14, and Lindsey, 12. He also leaves behind his long-time companion, Patricia Moss, and his adopted granddaughter, Miranda Hilton, both of Yakima.
A celebration of Larry's life will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, October 7th at the Rainier Memorial Center, 2807 Terrace Heights Drive, Yakima. Larry was a true wannabe "mountain man". May he continue to walk the trails beside us.
