Lexi THORP Obituary
Lexi Kay Thorp, 22, was born on September 15, 2001, in Coeur D' Alene, Idaho. Lexi attended elementary school, middle school and high school in Post Falls, Idaho, before moving to the Spokane Valley, where she attended Spokane Community College and worked.
On May 23, 2024, Lexi died suddenly and tragically, while visiting her fiancé, Hector Luis Garcia Lepe and his family in his hometown of Toluca, Mexico. Lexi and her future brother-in-law, 21-year-old, Erik Garcia Lepe, both from Spokane, Washington, were walking down a sidewalk together when a sudden tornado tore through the town taking the young lives of Lexi and Eric instantly.
Lexi was a shining light to everyone who knew her. Lexi was funny, sweet and had a magical laugh that would make anyone around her laugh too. Lexi was smart, talented and artistic. Lexi loved spending time with her family and friends. She loved traveling to Mexico and Hawaii with the whole tight-knit, Thorp family, who would often travel together (all 17 of them) to tropical destinations that Lexi loved. Lexi was excited about marrying her love, Hector and enjoyed planning the wedding and dreaming of her future life with him.
Lexi was always willing to help anyone who needed any assistance. Lexi was a kind person and she loved giraffes and animals. Lexi was raised by her father, Tim Thorp. When Lexi's father met and married Shasta Delong, Lexi was overjoyed and loved Shasta as her mom. Lexi was extremely close to her two siblings. She loved and adored her older brother, Tyler Thorp, and her identical twin sister, Lasea Thorp. Lasea and Lexi were inseparable as identical twins and could sense one another's emotions and finish each other's sentences. As children, the twins were interviewed for the local news as a group of 13 sets of twins in their small, Idaho elementary school classroom. Lexi made sure to tell the local news that her sister was funny as the twin girls giggled adorably.
Lexi was preceded in death by her great-grandfathers, Richard Thorp and Phillip Pitts; her great-grandmother, Donna Pitts; and her uncle, Michael Heaps. Lexi is survived by her father, Tim Thorp; her mom, Shasta Thorp; her biological mother, Jennifer Heaps; her brother, Tyler Thorp; twin sister, Lasea Thorp; her grandparents, Ronnell and Joe Thorp, Kim Bible; and her great-grandmother, Donna May Thorp. Also, her aunts, Rondi Thorp, Jodi Thorp, Ashley Heaps, and Lindsey Delong, and uncles, David Turplesmith, Ellis (Trip) Johnston III, and Cody Delong; and her younger cousins who adored her, Jameson Johnston, David Thorp, Evelyn Thorp, Ava Marie Johnston, Summer Heaps, Dillon Heaps, and Bailey Delong; as well as numerous other loving extended family members in Northern Idaho, Washington, and Kalispell, Montana.
A celebration of life will be held for Lexi Thorp on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at 6:00 p.m., at Center Place Regional Event Center, 2426 North Discovery Place, Spokane Valley, Washington. Lexi was so loved and will be missed forever by her friends and family. She left us far too soon. We love you Lexi.
