Linda JERSILD

Linda Carol (Goodell) Jersild of Modesto, CA, passed peacefully to Heaven on December 11, 2022, surrounded by her family.

Linda was born May 25, 1947, in Spokane, WA, and graduated from North Central High School in 1965. She skipped her graduation ceremony to marry the love of her life, David Jersild, and together they went on to have 3 daughters. Linda was a wonderful and loving wife and fun-loving mother who gave her all to her family and friends. She is remembered as a kind and funny lady, whose sweet smile and twinkly eyes lit up any room she entered. She loved people, and strangers were just "friends-in-the-making". She enjoyed spending time with family and her many friends, traveling, chatting daily with her siblings, and was an active member of the "Red Hat Society". She loved to randomly dress up in different costumes to surprise and bring laughter to friends and family! Her faith in Jesus was a steady source of encouragement throughout her life.

Linda joins her husband, David Jersild, and grandson, Christian Applegate, in Heaven, along with her father, George Goodell, mother, Barbara Ann (Frost) Jones, and brother, Clifford "Butch" Goodell. She leaves behind her three girls, Shannon Applegate (Richard), Shelley Roden (Andrew), and Denise Hull (Richard), her grandson, Logan Hull, her brother, Jeffrey Goodell, and her sister, Elizabeth Zeski, along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, and an untold number of people whose lives she touched.

A graveside service will be held at Lakewood Memorial Park at 900 Santa Fe Ave, Hughson, CA, on January 20, 2023, at 1:00 pm. A Celebration of Life is planned for April 22, 2023, in Modesto, CA.
