Lloyd Andrews

August 26, 1920 - October 7, 2014 Lloyd Andrews passed away peacefully, at the age of 94, on the October 7, 2014. Lloyd was beloved by his family and friends. He will be dearly missed. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Winnie May Andrews, and his three children, Lloyd Joel Andrews Jr., Ronald D Andrews, and Susan Irene Johnson. Lloyd has many grandchildren, who loved him very much. Lloyd lived a most incredible life. He was born at home in a log cabin near Dutton, Montana on August 26, 1920. His parents moved to Greenbluff, Washington while Lloyd was still quite young. After graduating from Mead High School, he went on to Washington State College; and was the first person in the family to graduate from college. Lloyd served in the Navy during WWII. After the war he returned home and farmed with his parents on Greenbluff. Being a devoted Christian man who believed he needed to serve his country and community, Lloyd went into politics. He was elected to the Washington State Legislation and served terms in both the house and senate. Lloyd was elected to ,the State office of Superintendent of Public Instruction in 1956, and he served in this position until 1960. After a successful political career Lloyd went into business. He started ChemNuclear and was responsible for the cleanup of the Three Mile Island Nuclear plant's accident in 1979. Lloyd left a large footprint and touched many lives for "just a farm boy" from Greenbluff. A graveside service will be held on October 11, in Scottsdale, Arizona at 10:00AM at Paradise Memorial Gardens, 9300 East Shea Blvd., Scottsdale, Arizona.
