Lois GARDNER Obituary

Lois Louise Gardner, 93, of Spokane Valley, WA, passed from this life into the arms of her Heavenly Father on October 25, 2025.

Born on August 14, 1932, in San Francisco, CA, to Harold and Helen Haskell, Lois and her family moved to Spokane Valley in 1944. Lois was an intelligent and quick-witted woman, graduating as the valedictorian of West Valley High School in 1950. She enjoyed painting ceramics, scrapbooking, and traveling the world. In her lifetime she visited all 50 states, Japan, and many countries in Europe.

She was preceded in death by parents, Harold and Helen Haskell; brother, Jim Haskell; and three of her nephews, Robert, William, and Donald Haskell. Lois is survived by her three children and their spouses: Michael Perry, wife, Catherine, Kristine Sweet, husband, Welby, Sarah Werner, husband, Eric. She has four grandchildren: Steven Perry, Carisa Berard, husband, Craig, Mikaela Moore, husband, Jacob, and Jenna Sweet-Pitiranggon, husband, Jimmy. She also has four great-grandchildren: Tessa Berard, Everyn & Kasem Pitiranggon, and Amelia Moore. Also surviving her is niece, Kathleen Haskell; and nephew, Ronald Haskell.

Lois was affectionately known by those who loved her as Gramme and is also survived by many "grandchildren" not named here who may not be related by blood, but whom she loved just the same.

Lois loved her family deeply and is fondly remembered for sending cards and baked goods for birthdays and holidays. Her love for sweet treats - especially ice cream - was famous.

Though no formal service is being held at this time, her family invites those who knew and loved her to remember her in their own meaningful ways - share a story, say a prayer, or enjoy a good laugh or a bowl of ice cream in her honor.

In lieu of sending flowers, her family is requesting donations made to komen.org for breast cancer or spokanehumanesocity.org for animal rescue.

I knew Lois through her daughter Sarah. Sarah and I were best friends as children. I have many memories of Lois. She was so sweet and loving. I will pray for her and her family. I am hoping Sarah sees this and reaches out to me. Sending lots of love.
