Before we knew Loren, we saw him coaching a little league baseball team playing against my son, Ben's, team. I said that Ben would never play for that coach, meaning Loren. Little did I know I would be eating those words the following season. Ben played for Loren and we learned under that grumpy exterior was a big, sweet hearted man. Ben loved playing for Loren; Loren was able to push Ben to be a better player and they got along well.
We were saddened to hear of Loren's passing. He will always have a soft spot in our hearts. Sending our thoughts and prayers.
