GORMAN, Madeleine
Long time Spokane resident passed away on November 24, 2011 at Deaconess Medical Center after a short illness. Madeleine was born August 23, 1913 in Bovill, ID to Thomas Marcel Groh and Juliette Stattmuller. She married Don P. Gorman November 5, 1935 in Kalispell, MT. Together they raised five children: Don Jr. (Jan), Mary Louise (deceased 1970), Mike (Marilyn), Marian, and Geraldine (Dan). She is survived by grand-children: Michelle (Steve), Ann (Joe), Christine, Colleen (Fiege), Lisa, Angelina (Joe), Jusdin, and Lisa June. Her great-grandchildren are Breann, Haley, Seth, Thalia, Nicholas, Jessica, Austin, and Kaitlyn. She is survived by her son-in-law Ron (Linda) and several nieces and nephews. She was a homemaker, a long time member of St. Aloysius Church, a member of St. Al's Altar Society, she was involved with the Novena of Grace for years, she was a member of the American Guild of Organist along with Don, and for years she was an assistant to Don as he built, repaired, and tuned pipe organs in the region. Don passed away in 1982. Madeleine's only sibling, Thomas J. Groh passed away in 1994. Viewing is scheduled November 30, 2011 from 2 pm to 7 pm followed by the rosary at Hennessey Smith Funeral Home at 2203 N. Division. The Mass of the Christian burial will be at 11 am December 1, 2011 at St. Aloysius 330 E. Boone Ave. Burial service will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
