Margaret FLOWER Obituary

Former Spokane resident, and 1962 graduate of Shadle Park High School, Margaret E. (Wagner) Flower, passed away January 29, 2025, at her home in Henderson, NV. Her husband, Clay Flower Jr. "Buzz," was at her side.

Born Margaret E. Uptain in Boise, ID, on August 19, 1944, to Jimmy and Betty Uptain. With a separation soon thereafter, Betty and Maggie lived with Betty's mother and stepdad, Eleanor and James Mitchell. To Maggie they were "grandma" and "poppy."

By the late 1940s, Betty was introduced to an Air Force officer name Don Wagner. Don decided to adopt Maggie, changing her name to Maggie Wagner.

After some Air Force moves, the Wagners ended up in Spokane, WA, in 1953. By 1955, Maggie attended sixth grade at Browne Elementary School. It was at this time, she and Buzz first met - age 11.

After 30 years of separate lives, they were able to connect again in 1985. They married in 1986 and moved to Nevada in 1989. She went back into her former chosen career of professional standards grievance issues with the Greater Las Vegas Association of Realtors (GLVAR) until heath issues caused an early retirement in the late 90s. With the addition of a mental decline in late 2024, the end was in sight.

To those who knew her, the quick wit, sense of humor, and great smile won't soon be forgotten. She will be sorely missed.

At her request, no services were held, with Davis Funeral Home handling her cremation and interment.
