Marian is survived by her sibling Bill Ackerman, 6 children Gail, Steve, Colleen, Janiece, Mary, and Gabrielle, 15 grandchildren Cody, Nick, Sam, Ty, Tanner, Trae, Meghan, Geremy, Chase, Joe, Aarika, Garrett, Dean, Dillon, Desha, and 11 great grandchildren.

Mom was a practicing Catholic which was very, very important to her: St. Thomas Moore w/Father Pat today, but Father Wedding when she was new to the Parish.

Born in Glentana, MT, the 8th of 9 children born to Tony & Elanor Ackerman. Mom grew up and lived most of her youth in Grangeville ID, she married and moved to Spokane WA where she resided for most of her adult life. Mom did live in Ghana, Africa for 4 years, as well as a few other locations.

Mom initially worked in a restaurant with her sister Lucille, then as a telegraph operator. Most of mom's adult work life was in hospitality as a waitress but most of all as a cocktail waitress at The Pine Shed with her lifelong friends Ann Hart & Theresa Ray.

Even after retirement mom worked in hospitality; At Costco and Yokes as well as working at church functions preparing wonderful feasts. She was a really good cook. Even in her last few years she still made the best pie crust ever.

We were all able to get together as a family April 2024 with 65+ extended family which was such an amazing time.

We want to give a special thanks to the Adult Family Home staff; Francis, Paul, and Anna of whom mom was family too.

Her Rosary will be Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at 6pm at St. Thomas More Parish, 515 St. Thomas More Way, Spokane, WA. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, August 14, 2025 at 10am, also at St. Thomas More. Online memorial page – www.holycrossofspokane.org
