Marian VOGE Obituary

Marian Kathryn Voge was born on January 1, 1924, in Spokane, WA, to Julia and Ernest Voge and passed away on November 21, 2024, at the age of 100+, surrounded by family.

She and her brother, David, were raised in Rosalia, WA, and later relocated to Post Falls, ID, where she graduated from Post Falls High School. She was first employed by Cunningham Photography in Spokane Valley, while she attended business school. She then moved to McMinnville, OR, where she was employed by Linfield College. There she met her good friend, Ethelmae Walter.

After relocating to Seattle, WA, she began her career with The American Baptist Churches of the Northwest as the secretary to the Executive Minister. She retired in June of 1992 after 36 years of service.

She moved in 2007 to Spokane to be closer to her family, and resided at Holman Gardens Retirement Home, where she lived independently. In January of 2024, she relocated to a Sunshine Adult Family Home. The final four months of her life, she was under the care of Hospice of Spokane.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, David; and her lifelong friend, Ethelmae. She is survived by her nieces, Karen (Lee) Shrontz and Kathie (Tony) King, as well as extended family members and good friends.

A Celebration of Life, honoring Marian, will be held in the spring.
