Marvin KNAPP Obituary

May 16, 1950 - September 13, 2025

Spokane - Beloved father and husband, Marvin L. Knapp was born to Harland and Mary Knapp on May 16th, 1950. He graduated from North Central High School where he met his future wife, Vivian Hossner. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps, receiving two Purple Hearts and the Navy Commendation Medal. Marvin and Vivian were married on October 3rd, 1970, at North Hill Christian Church. He attended SFCC and later the University of Idaho.

They had two sons, Robert and Andrew, who he loved dearly. He received his greatest gift, his granddaughter, Alexandia, on his 40th wedding anniversary.

Marvin retired from the United States Postal Service, but the only job he said he ever missed was being a lumberjack. Marvin loved fishing and hunting for deer and elk with his family and friends. He spent much of his free time at his lake cabin.

He passed away peacefully on September 13th, 2025.

Marvin is survived by his wife, Vivian; his sons, Robert (Erin) and Andrew (Leslie); his granddaughter, Alexandria; his siblings, Frank Knapp and Margie Rhodes (Rick); many nieces and nephews; and his best friend, John Cole. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Ronald; and sister, Sharon Poole (Orville).

His memorial service will be held Sunday, October 5th, at 2PM, at North Hill Christian Church.
