Mary May Obituary

May, Mary L. (nee Schloesser) Passed away at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home, Friday, August 30, 2013. Age 84 years. Survived by three daughters Debra (Jerry) Delp of Westmoreland, TN, Judy (Butch) Draper and Amy (Ted) Brodeur, both of Joliet. A son Michael (Tracy) May of Jacksonville, FL. Eight grandchildren Eric (Stephanie) Henning, Christa Henning, Nora Delp, Adam (Heather) Draper, Ashley (Bryan) Warcholek, Maggie May, Tyler and Trevor Brodeur. Granddaughter-in-law Stephanie May. Eleven great-grandchildren Faith, Stormy, Eric, Jared, Aubrey, Chasen, Livia, Micah, Jordyn, Kaylee and Logan. Two sisters Dorothy Zenk and Evelyn Kochendorfer. Preceded in death by her husband Mel E. May (2002) and a grandson Matthew May (2008). Mary was born October 20, 1928 in Ft. Atkinson, WI. She is a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church where she was active with the Braille Ministry. Mary retired in 1990 from Provena St. Joseph Medical Center as a switchboard operator since 1967. She enjoyed the Cubs, Bears, Bulls and Duke University Basketball games and knitting. Member of the Teacher Wives Bridge Club. Lying in state at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1910 Black Road, Tuesday, September 3rd from 9:30 A.M. until time of services at 10:00 A.M. Rev. Loy Schlote officiating. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Memorials to Our Savior Lutheran Church or Joliet Area Community Hospice will be appreciated. Visitation will be held Monday at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Rd., from 5:00 8:00 P.M.
