Mary SELLERS Obituary

Deer Park - Mary Sue Sellers, 75, of Deer Park, WA, passed away on January 17, 2024, in Spokane, WA. Mary was born on January 2, 1949, in Mt. Home, Arkansas, to Billy Cockrum and Juanita (Sinor) Cockrum. On November 18, 1968, she married Homer Pendleton Sellers in Yakima, WA. In July of 2001, Mary moved with her family to Deer Park, WA. After graduating from Grandview High School Mary enrolled in beauty school. Mary owned the Mabton Cafe and Lounge for a time and had a long career as a caregiver. Mary enjoyed spending her time with puzzles, crosswords, and sudoku. A lover of road trips, Mary often exclaimed that if you weren't taking the scenic route you were doing it wrong. Mary was a devoted mother and grandmother and will be missed by all. She was the heart of a large family and was happiest during holidays and gatherings. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Billy and Juanita Cockrum; her husband, Homer Sellers; her sister, Shirley Dunnick (Michael); and her brothers, Claude Ray Cockrum and Grover Cockrum. She is survived by her sister, Billie Jean Arnold (Daniel); sons, Christopher Sellers (Pauline) and Travis Sellers (Kelly); and her daughter, Sara Mulholland-Sellers (Joshua). Mary is also survived by her grandchildren, Colby, Hailey, Korbin, Bradley, Makayla, River, Vicky, Kendra, and Logan; and several great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Funeral services will be held at Spokane Cremation and Funeral located at 2832 N. Ruby, Spokane on February 16 at 2:00 p.m. The graveside service will be at 2:00 p.m. on February 19 at Lower Valley Memorial Gardens in Sunnyside, WA.
