Mary Stapleton Obituary

STAPLETON, Mary Fran

Passed away after her two year battle with melanoma cancer on Friday, December 2nd at the age of 67 with all of her family at her side.
She is survived by her loving children, grand-children and great-grand-child; Christine Nash (Jay and Nikki), Theresa Stapleton (Robin (Lorraine), Vinney, Amanda and Tyler (twins), Samantha and Jack), Kelly Theonnes and Sarah Nash (Husband Ryan). Her FAMILY was her life.
Mary is also survived by her five brothers and one sister; Joe, Tom, Don, Jim, Larry and Susan Stapleton and their Families.
Mary Fran worked for 35 years as a nurse at Eastern State Hospital and remained close friends with many co-workers. She LOVED her Red Hat group and always looked forward to doing water aerobics' with her extended friends at OZ Fitness. Her Irish heritage and flair for hats allowed her much fun after retirement including a good game of Scrabble with friends at the senior center. The Pend Oreille River with grandchildren provided her a summer retreat that she longed for.
The Family would like to thank the Rockwood Clinic Doctors and Staff that were so caring to Mary over the years, especially Dr. Lund at the end, and of course the staff and volunteers from Hospice Of Spokane over these past few months. Outstanding!
Mary's memorial service will be on Friday, December 9th at 11 am at the Holy Cross Cemetery Chapel/Mausoleum.
In lieu of flowers etc. please send any donations in the name of Mary Fran to Hospice Of Spokane, PO. Box 2215, Spokane, WA. 99201

Mary Fran, a gratifying and wholehearted person that I only start to know when her illness intervened. I regret missing the extended opertunity to work with and know her like all her friends and family members have expressed. I speak for Mary's ancestors in the State of Minnesota when I convey a deep sorrow for her passing. Thank you Mary Fran for all the goodwill you bestowed others.
