Michael MILLICK Obituary

Michael Matthew Millick entered into rest on May 25th, 2022 following a brief battle with cancer surrounded by family. Mike was 64 years old. He was born September 5th, 1957 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane. As the second child of Robert and Myrna Millick, he grew up in Trentwood where he attended East Valley High School and would later graduate high school with honors from North Central High.

He earned his associate's degree with honors from Spokane Falls Community College and also studied at Washington State University in Pullman, as well as Eastern Washington University in Spokane. Mike worked as general manager of the Hindquarter in Spokane, and would later spend the majority of his career tending bar and serving the Public at the S.S Beryl in Spokane for over 15 years.

As an avid reader self-taught at age 4, his curiosity and admiration for the written word never left him. He memorized everything he read and was highly regarded for his knowledge by all that knew him. He acted as a personal search engine for his friends with queries long before the internet became commonplace. He was also a faithful viewer of Jeopardy and would have done well had he been a contestant.

Mike's legacy lies in his dedication to the public that he served and his friends whom he cherished. Those who had the pleasure of meeting him were met with an unwavering heart of gold who loved purely and indiscriminately to a fault, as his generosity for others had no limits.

He is preceded in death by his Father Robert Millick, and brothers Paul Millick and Randy Millick. He is survived by his Mother Myrna Millick, daughter Sarah Millick, and son Andrew Petrone.

A celebration of life will be held at The Fraternal Order of the Eagles Saturday, July 16th at 2:00 pm at 6410 N Lidgerwood in Spokane. Memorial contributions may be made in Mike's name to PageAhead.org, an organization that works to close the literacy achievement gap experienced by at-risk children in Washington State.
