Michael "Mike" Murray, 74, passed away on October 30, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. He joined his brother, John, and his parents, Robert "Bob" and Julie, in heaven.
Born on October 5, 1951, in Grand Forks, North Dakota, Mike was one of the "Murray Five." With his parents, sister Kathy, and brothers John, Tom, and Brad, he moved across the country before the family settled in Missoula, Montana, a place that would forever hold his heart. Missoula became part of who he was, shaping his adventurous spirit, his love of the outdoors, and his countless stories.
Mike lived with strength, humor, and an incredible love for others. His life was defined by friendship, fun, and family. He was a devoted father to Shaun and Rob, always showing up for life's big and small moments. From the glass at the hockey rink to the fairways of life, he could always be counted on to be their biggest fan and fiercest supporter. His boys carry on his integrity, love of life, and kind heart.
As his family grew, Mike found joy in his role as father-in-law to Jen and Haley, and his life found even more meaning with the arrival of his grandchildren-Dylan, Ashlyn, Easton, and Aspen. They were his greatest joy, and time spent with "Grandpa Mike" was filled with laughter, stories, and love. Mike's legacy of strength, laughter, and love will live on in his family and all who were fortunate to know him. His example reminds us to work hard, play hard, love deeply, and never take life too seriously.
He is survived by his children, Shaun (Jen) Murray and Rob (Haley) Murray, grandchildren Dylan, Ashlyn, Easton, and Aspen, sister Kathy Murray, brothers Tom (Judy) Murray and Brad (Julie) Murray, and many nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, November 22, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at The Boiler Room. Please join us as we raise a bottle to all that Mike was to each of us.
