VEDVIK, Michael Sven Michael Sven Vedvik went to see our Lord Jesus on February 2, 2015 at his home in Kent, WA. Born on December 26, 1961 in Spokane, WA. Michael is survived by his wife Stephanie; daughters Alisha Vedvik, Brittany Mullins (husband Matthew), Chelsea Vedvik; stepdaughters Michelle and Sandy Gaughan; grandson Jayce and granddaughter Layla; father Sven Vedvik, mother MaryAnne Solberg (stepfather Gary Solberg); sisters Tina Piper and Kathrene Peters (husband Dan) and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. I loved knowing Mike. Our connection was surveying supplies, instruments, and repair. What a gentle-man he was. RIP

I am thinking about Mike's family and close friends during this very sad and difficult time. Mike and I knew each during those infamous days on the Hillyard Swim Team coached by Bonnie Sherar. We didn't stay in contact but reconnected awhile back on Facebook. I could tell he was really happy with his loved ones.

Loved the Seahawk reference in his obituary! That was classic!

I can't imagine what your family has gone through with Mike's unexpected passing. I'm so sorry for your loss. Lots of prayers have been coming your way to help you all get through this hard time. Remember lots of friends are here for you to lean on. I'm glad you were able to extract some humor with the Seattle Seahawks comment. That was a big hit. Rest in peace Mike.

Thank you all for your beautiful tributes. I've read each of them twice and I'm sure I'll read them many more times. I used to tell Mike that my life really began when I met him and that I never wanted to be without him. I hope he is having a laugh with my Dad in heaven just like they did on Earth.

Thanks to everyone for you kind thoughts. We appreciate them all. It was wonderful to see all of you who made it to Mike's memorial service and we know those who didn't were there in spirit. You have honored his life and it means more than words can express to his family. May your lives be truly blessed by the Lord Jesus Christ.

My thoughts go out Mary Ann, Katherine, and Tina and Mike's family. Though I was Mike's cousin I only have one memory of him. Fortunately it is of him signaling that he wanted to water ski from the middle of the lake to the shore and as his young cousin I watched him do it, landing on the sandy shore without the support of a line, effortlessly. It was amazing.

So sorry for your loss. Like many others I didn't know Michael or the family but I'm certain i would easily connect with you based on your love and humor. Michael, take comfort knowing that many of us all over the country continue to be heart-broken over the Seahawks crazy call. I'm huge Colts and Bronco fan, but Seahawks are now in my top 3! Rest in peace with our Heavenly Father.

So sorry to hear to hear about Mike's passing - lost track of him after he moved from Bellevue. I'll always remember that he was the first guy I knew that got those cool waffle soled Nike running shoes ...

I am so sorry for you loss. I had not seen Mike in at least 30 years, when he swam and played water polo on the summer teams at Hillyard pool. I remember him as a hard working polite young man with a smile that would brighten anyone's day. I am glad that we re-connected through facebook in the last couple years. Prayers to all his family.

To Kathy and the Vedvik clan I was shocked to hear of Mikes early retirement to heaven. Mike always had a smile and a giggle. It is always tough to have someone leave so soon.
Rest assured he is in a better place.
May God Bless You in these times.

My heart goes out to Michael's family in their time of mourning, and how they brought smiles to the faces of millions of people who love football every bit as much as Michael did. Namaste...

It's very shocking to see a familar name of someone I went to junior and high school with, who I secretely thought was so cute! From what I remember of Michael then is his good looks and how girls fawned over him. He was a great athlete, I think on the football team too. Focus on your great memories of him and he will always be with you. Truely I am very sorrry for your loss.

I am going to miss Mike so much. He was a great friend and always was laughing and having a good time. Last year when my twin brother Jeff was in Seattle for a liver transplant Mike would always call for updates on his condition. I hadn't spoken to him for at least 20 years but, as soon as I told him about Jeff he would call weekly and we would talk about life, family and God. I know you are in heaven now and will be spending your time looking over your family. I will look forward to seeing you again. God Bless!

Stephanie & Family,
I have known Mike for many years and was very fond of him. We did a lot of business together over the years and he will be missed. I will especially miss his smile and good sense of humor.
May God comfort you and your family now and in the years to come. Mike's legacy will be the joy he brought to his close friends and family.
I wish I could attend the memorial services but the distance doesn't allow for it.
God bless you all,
