Michelle HEYN Obituary

May 27, 1970 - June 9, 2023

Loving wife of Ian Heyn; daughter-in-love of Nancy and Jerry; Mama of Ray Winders, Jake Robinson, Isaac Heyn (Kodi) and Sage Heyn (Sierra); Sister of Keith; sister-in-love of Melanie; MiMi of Hazel, Alice and Ruth; and Godmother of Jackson.

Michelle would tell you her "real life" started when she moved to Spokane. She met Ian July 3rd, 2003 and they married exactly one year later. (When you know you know!)

Michelle worked in Insurance as an Account Manager and loved her work. She called herself a PPP (professional paper pusher). Her side hustles were concert promoting and Rock Rings (her homespun hula hoops).

Some of Michelle's favorite things were music, art, travel, flowers, plants, jadeite and beachcombing. Her husband Ian is a beekeeper and Michelle loved all things related to Ian, bees and honey.

She often said her favorite place was the ocean. She loved pretty dresses, Salt Water sandals and driving. She drove all over the country to listen to live music and meet up with like-minded friends. Her favorite city was New Orleans, where she and Ian spent part of their honeymoon road-trip.

Her friends would tell you what a joy she was. She always looked at you like she really saw you, and loved you. Her laughter was contagious and would light up a room. She was Auntie Michelle to Hope and to all the children of her friends, who saw her as the magical, fairytale creature that she truly was.

Michelle led with love. She was a fierce ally and advocate of the marginalized. She believed in shopping locally, supporting local artists and musicians and treading lightly on Mother Earth. Let's honor her by trying to live up to the beautiful examples she set.

Please make donations in her memory to: CASA Partners, PO Box 8158, Spokane, WA 99203, at Casapartners.org or take a friend to enjoy a concert.

Michelle's celebration of life, her "after party," will be at Duncan Garden in Manito Park on July 13th, 4:30pm.

Michelle was the mom to one of my best friends. She was loving and kind, loved to laugh, loved her music, and her family. My first time meeting her she was getting ready for the evening and was playing music off her iPod. I knew instantly that she was way cooler than me. My heart goes out to her and her family for the struggle they endured. Despite the challenges they faced, Michelle's spirit remained unbreakable. Her resilience and unwavering love for her family were evident to all who knew her. She left an indelible mark on everyone she met, and her memory will forever be cherished in our hearts. Rest in peace, Michelle. Your legacy of love and strength will continue to inspire us all.

Mark and I were fortunate enough to be with Ian and Michelle when they first met. Their chemistry was very apparent. Their love and respect for each other was a true treasure. They were always laughing and smiling. Every time they glanced at each other it was a look of endearing love. Michelle“s presence was so positive, it was like sunbeams surrounding her, you could not help feeling anything but happiness when you were with her. Blessings & love to Ian and the family. Heaven has a beautiful new angel. Michelle always lit the room up, even when there were 500 plus people in the room. She is an amazing soul and I'm sure we will feel her beautiful heart for years to come. My thoughts go out to Ian and Family, God Bless.

Michelle was a delightful person to work with. Although it has been years since we worked together I still have so many good memories of time spent with her mostly on our breaks. My thoughts and prayers are with her family. RIP Michelle.

Prettiest Matron of honor any woman could ask for. "Jilly loves Chad." MH
She knew before I told her, just like she knew the heart of any of her friends. Much love and loud music in the afterlife, sweet Chelle. I sure will miss you!
