Monte CARR Obituary

Clayton - Monte Ray Carr, beloved son, father, and grandfather passed away on February 16, 2023, at Providence St. Joseph's Hospital in Chewelah, WA. He was 80 years old. Monte leaves behind four daughters: Rebecca Carr, Wendy (Manuel) Garcia, Angela (Warren) Baker, and Katrina (Jacob) Dulitz; his mother, Evelyn Carr; and two sisters, Teresa Broman, and Nancy Carr. Monte also leaves behind his beloved grandchildren, Cassidy, Kira, Owen, Noah, Evelyn, and Amelia. Born in Spokane, WA, Monte lived on the family homestead outside Clayton his entire life. Monte was in the Army Special Forces as a Green Beret from 1964 thru 1967. During his time of service, he has awarded the following medals: Sharpshooter (M-16), Good Conduct, Parachute Badge, and National Defense service medal. After his military service ended he went on to become a Millwright and traveled the world repairing machinery for hydroelectric and nuclear power plants. He was a mathematical whiz. Monte spent endless hours on a tractor farming the fields of the land he loved so dear to his heart. Most people remember Monte for his bottomless well of jokes. You could give him a topic and he would give you a joke; he could and did go on for hours this way. He loved meeting new people and always will be considered a treasured friend. All are welcome to join a special celebration of life, Sunday, March 5th at 2 pm at The Eagles, 12 W. South Ave., Deer Park, WA 99006.
