Nathan TAYLOR Obituary

Nathan Lee Taylor, 58, passed on November 10, 2022, at Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane, WA. He was the son of his loving mother, Alice Stolz, and father, John Stolz, now deceased. Nate was a proud and committed father to his successful children, Kailin and Austin Taylor. He was a loving partner to his fiancé, Diane Carr.

Nathan was born in Spokane, WA, on December 20th, 1963. He went to Lewis and Clark High School, where he was one of the great personalities and friend to so many from the Class of 1982. Nate attended ITT Technical Institute and worked more than 33 years alongside his brother Giles at Sacred Heart Medical Center as a Senior Biomedical Equipment Technician. Nate was more than a strong co-worker at Sacred Heart, developing great camaraderie and friendships with so many people over the many years.

At the early age of 8 years old, Nate fell in love with the game of ice hockey. He played Spokane Americans Youth Hockey, worked for the Spokane Chiefs organization, and was a long-standing member of the historic Spokane Oldtimers hockey club. In hockey terms, Nate was a "glue guy" keeping everyone together. He excelled on the ice and even more in the locker room as a great teammate and storyteller.

Over the past 40 years, Nate had spent some of his most relaxing times at the family cabin on Spirit Lake, ID. He and Diane have made Spirit Lake their serene home away from home, always welcoming friends and family.

Nate is survived by his mother, Alice Stolz; daughter, Kailin Taylor; son, Austin Taylor; fiancé, Diane Carr; sisters, Jennifer Conley and Alisa Chambers, and brothers, Giles Taylor, Bucky Stolz, Bill Stolz, and John Stolz.

In true Nate fashion, he was giving to others to the very end. As an organ donor, he gave the gift of life to several people in need. More than 200 family members, friends, coworkers, and medical staff lined the Sacred Heart CICU halls for Nate's "honor walk." Such a great tribute to a great man in his final moments!

Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022, at 5:30pm at The Steam Plant Rooftop Room located at 159 S. Lincoln Street in Spokane. Please come prepared to share a memory or funny story.
