Norman PRUSSACK Obituary

Norman Prussack was born in Bronx, NY on January 3, 1930 to Esther & Sigmund Prussack. He passed away on July 6, 2021 in Spokane Valley, WA at the age of 91. Norman graduated from the Bronx High School of Science in 1942 and went to Brooklyn Polytechnic Institute for 1 year. He joined the US Army in 1949 and served 3 years, 7 months, 2+ days as a radar mechanic. He attained rank of Staff Sargent and was discharged in 1952. He met his wife, Marilyn, on a blind date and they were married at her parents' house in Sandpoint, ID on September 13, 1952. Immediately after their wedding they went back East to Syracuse, NY where he worked for General Electric as a tester for a year and then went to work for AT&T. Their oldest son, Chuck, was born in Syracuse, NY in 1953. In 1955 he moved the 3 of them to Spokane, WA where he worked for Pacific NW Bell as a communication technician for 36-1/2 years. Norman retired on August 11, 1989. In 1960, they built a home on the South Hill of Spokane where they raised their 4 boys. After retirement, Norman enjoyed volunteering for the Spokane Fish Hatchery, tutoring students and helping them progress. He also loved gardening and growing plants. He thanked the Lord for a measure of health, strength, and increased faith.

Norman is survived by his wife, Marilyn, of 68 years, sons Chuck (Susan), Les (Jill), Doug (Tana) & James (Nancy). He has 5 grandchildren - Dan, Susie, Michael, Evan & Dana, and 5 great grandchildren - Rylie, Elliot, Hayden, Emmalynn & Hudson. Also nephew Dan Prussack of New York. He was preceded in death by his parents, Esther & Sigmund, and brother Monroe.

There will be a funeral service for family and close acquaintances on Tuesday, July 20th @ 11AM at Heritage Funeral Home, 508 N Government Way, Spokane, WA with a graveside immediately following at Greenwood Memorial Terrace.

Thinking of you all. I appreciated so much Norman's faithfulness to keep on going and doing, when it would have been easier to just stay put. He gave his all.
