Norman RIPLEY Obituary

Norman Ross Ripley passed away from natural causes surrounded by loved ones on March 26, 2022, at the age of 72. Norm was proud to have served the U.S. Marine Corp in Vietnam where he received two bronze medals and a Purple Heart for his service.

Norm could make magical things happen with his mechanical and artistic mind and hands. His meticulous attention to detail can be found throughout his home: a model train landscape that filled an entire room, to a larger scale train that encircled another room just above head height. When a vision came into focus, he stopped at nothing to bring his vision to life. This could be seen in the cars, trucks, and motorcycles he restored so others could welcome his vision. He even converted a shuttle bus into a camper; he faced every project with grit, determination, and some occasional colorful yet choice words.

His passion for restoring vehicles encouraged him to seek like-minded individuals in several car enthusiast groups like Duke's, The Gents Auto Club, and the Hotrod association.

Norm leaves behind many loved ones and friends. Please join us for a service in his honor on May 14 at 12:00 p.m. at Holy Cross Cemetery Chapel. Celebration of Life following the service at The Onion Bar and Grill on North Division. Bring the cars.

I had the privilege to know Norm on one of his many remodeling projects in his home. I was instantly impressed with his mechanical knowledge in building cars. I was honored to have known him as such a steadfast and brave person and fellow Marine. Semper Fi and Rest in Peace.
