Patricia Cook Obituary

COOK,
Patricia"Patti"
1948-2010

Patricia L. Cook, better known to most as Patti, died quietly on December 24, 2010 with her adoring younger brother, Jeff McFall, at her side. She lived with Alzheimer's disease for several years. She joins her son, Christopher Steven Cook, who died when he was 2 days old in 1971. She leaves her husband of 40 years, Steven M. Cook, daughter Melissa S. Rundlett, son-in-law Jeff Rundlett, grandchildren Irish Lurvey and Jeff Rundlett, Jr. She also leaves siblings, in-laws and extended family members, who all miss her greatly. Patti was an LPN in the mid to late 1970s, eventually moving onto other careers. She last worked with Tacoma Radiology Associates, retiring in 2001 when her husband Steven accepted a position in Baltimore, Maryland. They returned to the Northwest in mid 2008 after Steven retired. One of her passions was weaving, which she took up in the early 1980s. Sadly, Alzheimer's robbed her of that joy. She leaves many beautiful pieces, which serve as a constant reminder of her weaving talent and creativity. She was a spitfire, in her daughter Melissa's words. She was outspoken and would speak her mind unwaveringly. All who came to know her have been touched by her deeply and she will be greatly missed. Memorial services will be scheduled for some time in February. Please send condolences and inquiries to Steven M. Cook, 15413 8th Avenue Ct E, Tacoma, Washington 98445, or send an email to [email protected].

I have fond memories of Patti & Steve's generousity in my times of difficulty. They took me in when any sane person would have not. An extremely fond memory is of a camping trip with Settler Steve, Pioneer Patti, Sasquash Sal, and Jungle Jeff. Patti and I shared a fondness for classic musicals. She taught me a great deal about gardening and plants. She helped me through a difficult time in my life.
My heart goes out to her husband and life partener, Steven.
