Rhea Jean
(Age 91)
Was born on May 24, 1925 in Marlin, Washington to Gustav and Emma (Kallenberger) Zimbelman. She passed away in Spokane, WA on October 28, 2016. She attended and graduated from the Marlin School. She married LaMar Strate on January 19, 1947 in Odessa, WA. They moved to Spokane in 1969. Rhea is survived by her four daughters: Marla (Bob) Svoboda, Beverly (Ceddio) Barela, Shelly (Rich) Miller, and Robyn (Geoff) Norwood; six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and two brothers, Don and Robert Zimbelman, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Rhea is preceded in death by her husband, LaMar (1986), parents Gus and Emma Zimbelman, three sisters, Florence Schlimmer, Viola Syring, Ione "Tootie" Zeiler, and three brothers: Leo, Melvin and Herb Zimbelman. Rhea was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and the South Side Senior Center. She enjoyed traveling, crocheting, bowling, playing cards and going to the casino but her family and grandchildren were most important to her. Memorials can be made to Shriner's Hospital, Spokane Guild Schools or to the donor's choice. A private family graveside will be held at the Odessa Cemetery in Odessa, WA.
