Robert McINTYRE Obituary

In loving memory of Robert (Bob) McIntyre, who peacefully passed away on January 19, 2024. Bob was born to Harold F. McIntyre and Mary Anne McIntyre Memminger on November 21, 1952, in Mountain Home, Idaho. Being a child in an Air Force family meant frequent moves, but Bob was able to make friends and fit in no matter where he lived. He graduated from Washington Irving High School, Clarksburg, WV, in 1970 and received a BA in Finance and Marketing from Eastern Washington University in 1975. In 1981 he married Jan Marie Kinzer and together they welcomed a daughter, Kari, whom they raised in the Spokane Valley. Sitting at a desk was not his preference, so Bob pursued a career in transportation working many years with Joey August Distributors. Early on Bob was an avid sportsman participating in skiing, golf, fishing, and hunting, but his passion was baseball. It didn't matter whether he was playing, coaching, or watching; he loved it all. With perseverance and determination, Bob courageously coped with the advances of Parkinson's Disease. He never lost his smile, his enthusiasm for the Eastern Eagles, or his love of family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Jan; and daughter, Kari McIntyre; sisters, Anne Stanley and Cathy Guthrie (Steve). He is also survived by his nephew, Mike Stanley (Jeni); nieces, Sarah Germain (Steve), Jennifer Guthrie, and Stephanie Rosbach (Bryan). In honor of Bob's memory, a Celebration of Life will be held at Darcy's Restaurant Spokane Valley on Feb. 24 from 1-3 pm.

His pain and suffering are over and now we can remember all the great times we had. Jan, you have done the work of a saint and your love for Bob was everlasting and was very evident. He will always be remembered and missed, with the sense of humor and laugh. He is in a better place and maybe he can help the Eags get back on the winning trail.

My sincerest condolences to theMcIntyre family. Bob and is were roommates in a duplex on 4th Ave in Cheney Fall qtr 1973 and Winter qtr 1974. He was a good man and a good roommate. His access to the PX at Fairchild kept us well fed that Fall and Winter. RIP my old friend, Bob.

I met Bob as we were both hired in 1979 for Coors distributing
We became friends within days and we hunted together ,fish together, for 2 years until we were both left the coors distributing upheaval.
I have so many stories I'm as I'm sure that all that loved him also have but all I would say was always in a happy mood and more he could do to help the more he tried to do to help you more.
I look at this is just another journey and I know Bob will do well.
