Robin HUNT Obituary

HUNT,
Robin Sr.
(Age 81)

In 1954, Robin married his high school sweetheart Barbara (Brown) in Spokane, WA. Together they worked in Spokane while Robin attended Eastern Washington State Univer- sity with dreams of being a teacher. After graduation, Robin joined the U.S. Army fulfilling his ROTC responsibility. Over the next 20 years and two tours in Vietnam, they would live on Army bases around the world, raise a family of four children and make hundreds of friends that they would keep in touch with for their entire lives.
Once retired from the Army as a Lieutenant Colonel, Robin returned to work in the family business, Allied Security, with his brother Terry for 18 years. With a desire to enjoy year-round warm weather after retirement, the Hunts moved to Nipomo, California, settling into the wonderful golf community of Blacklake. There they played golf for 16 years and explored the central California Coast with new and dear friends.
Robin is survived by his wife Barbara; children: Rob (wife Vikki), Kari (husband Jerry), Tammy (husband Joe), and Robert (wife Melody); grandchildren: Mychel, Jake, Josiah, Susan, Shawna, Jawuan, Joey, Shawn, Sydney, and Savannah, and eight great-grandchildren.
One of Robin's granddaughters said it best in a poem she wrote in 2012:
He's brave and he's valiant
He fought for our lives
He never did hinder
As he saw his friends die

He stood up for all of us
For you and for me
He traveled across countries
Over miles of blue sea

He didn't see his family
For months at a time
So that we would be safe
And keep our families alive

And his family missed him
As they feared the worst
Because they knew
He put others lives first

But because of this man
I do not back down
I help up others
When they fall to the ground

And I couldn't be the person
That I am today
If I didn't know my Papa
Had loved in this way
