Ronald HUDSON Obituary

October 29, 1948 - August 7, 2024

Spokane - Ronald Wayne Hudson, known affectionately as Ron, passed away on August 7, 2024, in Spokane, Washington, at the age of 75. Born on October 29, 1948, in Renton, Washington, Ron spent his life dedicated to his family, his work, and his passions.

Ron graduated from Eastern Washington University and devoted 25 years of his career to the Spokane County Engineering/Road Department. As the head of the Lab and the Radiation Safety Officer, Ron was a pivotal figure in his department, respected for his expertise and valued as a colleague.

Beyond his professional life, Ron was a vibrant presence in his community and home. He was an avid sports enthusiast, with a particular love for playing softball and golf. Ron was also a seasoned poker player and a dedicated fan of the Seahawks, Mariners, and the Gonzaga Bulldogs. His love for sports extended to cheering on his children and later his grandchildren in their various activities, a pastime that brought him immense joy.

Ron was a man of great character, known for his patience and kindness. Described by those who knew him as the best husband, father, brother, and friend one could ask for, he was always there to lend a hand or an ear. His unconditional love and support were the foundations upon which his family thrived.

Ron leaves behind his beloved wife, Deanna Hudson; daughter, Bree (Bryan) Rose; daughter, Tia Hudson; son, Kyle (LoriAnne) Hudson; and his nephew, Ethan Child, whom he helped raise. He will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren, Paisley, Tenley, Avery, Hudson, and AJ; his brother, Richard (Debbie) Hudson; brother-in-law, Glenn (Natalie) Kline and their son, Weston; and nieces, Michelle (Mike) Warren, Tonya (Brian) Ward, and Janelle (Bobby) Spencer. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Sylvia and Elwood Thomas "Woody" Hudson.

Pacific Northwest Cremation in Spokane, Washington, is assisting the family with arrangements. Ron's life and legacy will be celebrated by all who knew him, leaving a lasting imprint on the hearts of his loved ones and his community.
