Ronald LEITHEAD

1948 - 2023

Ronald (Ron) Dean Leithead, 74 years, unexpectedly passed away in Seven Bays, WA, on April 17, 2023. He was born in Ephrata, WA, on July 13, 1948.

His elementary school years began at Whitman Elementary in Spokane, but he also attended schools in Tule Lake, CA, and Essex, MT, as he, his sister Carla, and his parents moved for their father's work. Ron graduated from John Rogers High School in 1966. While in high school he performed with his buddies in the band, The Monells. He played the saxophone and looked back fondly on those years. Following a semester in college, he served in the Army in Vietnam.

 Ron had two sons, Dan and Kurt. Kurt preceded him in death in 2011. He had four grandchildren, Tristina, Zayle, Christina, and Troy, and a great-granddaughter, Sofia. Troy preceded him in death in 2021. He was also survived by his sister Carla Ford and nephews..

Ron retired as a bosun for the Alaska Marine Highway. He lived in Alaska for 36 years which gave him plenty of time to follow his passions, hunting and fishing. How fortunate he was, to live his life full of adventures.

He and his wife Donna were married in 2016 and spent much of their time traveling and enjoying their home on Lake Roosevelt.

He will be so missed by the family and friends he left behind. We will never forget the stories he loved to share. His life will be celebrated at 1:00 on Saturday, July 15. Please contact Donna at DL72016@yahoo.com for directions.
