Ronald PEARSON Obituary

October 2nd, 1953 - April 6th, 2021

A loving husband, attentive father, jovial grandfather, and brother, Ronald Lee Pearson was called home to be with his Heavenly Father on April 6, 2021.

Ron grew up on the south hill in Spokane and attended Roosevelt Elementary, Sacajawea Junior High, and Lewis and Clark High School. In his youth, he spent many weeks at the family farm near Worley, Idaho, overlooking Lake Coeur d' Alene, building rope swings in the barn, and climbing trees. Riding bikes around Manito and Cannon Hill parks were some of his favorite things to do as a kid. Ron once rode his bike with his brother from the family home on the south hill to the farm out of Worley, Idaho. Seeking more adventure, he also rode his bike to Lewiston, Idaho, from Spokane with a good friend.

At a young age, Ron began taking everything apart to figure out how it worked. Much to his father's surprise, he even took the carburetor off his dad's piano truck to repair it. He worked many lawn jobs with his own lawn mower at 14 and started buying dozens of televisions from Goodwill and repairing them to sell. After high school, Ron studied electronics at Spokane Community College. He worked for Squires Music store with his dad before starting his own business Northwest Organ Service.

Ron was introduced to his soulmate, Debbie Ann Pearson, by their mutual friends. They married on March 14, 1981. They had two sons, Lee (born March 16, 1986) and Ryan (born December 2,1992). Ron and Debbie ran Northwest Organ Service together and both boys worked in the shop as their first jobs.

Ron loved the work he did and enjoyed traveling all over the Northwest and beyond for repairs and sales of church organs. Through connections via online church organ networks, Ron and Debbie even managed to do service calls to vacation spots like Jamaica and Hawaii. Ron's favorite destination was Alaska. He and Debbie made work trips every year, enjoying several weeks of sightseeing after the work was completed. Locally, Ron would take both of his sons during their youth on service calls around the northwest such that they could go hiking, camping, and sightseeing around the most beautiful parts of the country. He loved road trips and drove across the US many times. When in Spokane, Ron enjoyed camping and boating and spending time with family and friends.

Ron had a very loving and trusting heart for people and had many friends. He was very proud of his two boys and was so looking forward to spending time with the grandchildren and doing more traveling when covid restrictions were lifted. Ron was a long-time member at Hamblen Park Presbyterian Church and greatly enjoyed his community of faith and connection to organ music in worship. He kept up his practice during the pandemic, religiously watching his younger son Ryan play guitar and lead worship music, and then followed by listening to Hamblen's live stream service throughout the last year.

Ron was preceded in death by his loving wife (Debbie Pearson) of 39 years and his parents (Raymond A. and Marian J.). He is survived by his son Lee (Fatima) and their daughter, Daliyah; and his son Ryan (Carrie) and their sons, Landon, and Lucas. Ron also leaves behind his brother Roger (Dorie) Pearson and sister Pam (John) Mulligan. Ron will be missed and remembered by all who knew him.

A celebration of his life will be held at Hamblen Park Presbyterian Church (4102 S Crestline St) at 11am on Saturday, August 14th.
