Ronald Streeter Obituary

Streeter, Ronald James
July 19, 1934 - August 29, 2025
Ronald James Streeter passed away on August 29, 2025, at his home in Tucson, Arizona, with his wife of 50 years, Anneke Streeter, by his side. He was 91. He is survived by his five children: Susan Conners, Lynette Boatright, Keith Streeter, Vernon Streeter and Jonathan Streeter, as well as his eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
Ron was born on July 19, 1934, in Forsyth, MT, to John and Bertha Streeter, the second of their four sons. He and his brothers grew up on a ranch near Colstrip, MT, and after graduating high school in 1952, he enlisted in the Army, serving in Skagway, Alaska. It is there he met Leada Sheleby, his first wife and mother of his first four children.
After his discharge, he attended Washington State University in Pullman, WA, graduating in 1961 with a degree in veterinary medicine. He moved to Spokane, WA, with his young family, eventually opening his own successful veterinary practice called Five Mile Pet Clinic. In 2000, Ron retired and passed along the business to his son, Vern Streeter, who continued the practice until his own retirement in 2022.
Ron was an accomplished woodworker, building everything from furniture to intricate jewelry boxes. In his retirement, he developed his talent for painting, creating many pieces cherished by his extended family. After spending several years wintering in Arizona, he decided to permanently take up residence in Tucson, where he spent countless hours hiking trails in the desert canyons he came to love.
Ron lived the values of hard work, fortitude and love of family that are the birthright of those born and raised on the plains of eastern Montana. He will be missed.

He was a good and compassionate man and an excellent veterinarian. As a young person (15) with my sick dog he explained the importance or nurturing our pets. I lost that dog. He continued to be my pets vet till the day he retired. I was and am very grateful for the education he instilled in me to be a responsible pet owner. I am still a client at Five Mile Pet. RIP Dr. Streeter.
