Sandra RIBA Obituary

Sandra Rose Riba, age 83, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025, in Coeur d'Alene, ID. She was born on February 2, 1942, in San Francisco, CA. Sandy is survived by her daughter, Katherine (Charlie) and their grandchildren, Paige and Charlie of Sandpoint, ID; daughter, Karen (Shannon) of Post Falls, ID; and son, Brad and granddaughter, Ashley of Corona Del Mar, CA. Sandy was preceded in death by her mother, Beatrice; father, Albert; and husband, Paul.

Sandy grew up in Los Altos, CA. She was the oldest daughter of the family, with two sisters, Shirley and Nancy, and two brothers, Albert and Bob. She graduated from Los Altos High School. Soon after she met her husband, Paul, at a church Walther League meeting. They soon were engaged and then married on July 31, 1960.

They spent a few years in northern California before moving to the Pacific Northwest. Sandy was a devoted wife for over 60 years, an incredible mother, and an unwavering source of support and love for all who knew her. She worked in the family business and also spent many years in administration in the Escrow business. She loved spending time with family and friends. Camping, water and snow skiing, and family vacations were highlights for her in her early years. Her favorite and Happy Place was their cabin at Priest Lake.

She was known for her kindness, generosity and loving way. Her ability to genuinely care about other people and ask heartfelt questions to learn more about other people was second to none. Her memory and the countless ways she enriched people's lives will be forever cherished. Mom, you will be deeply missed and loved forever.

I am so sorry to hear of Sandy's passing. My heart is with the family. We were great friends while Sandy and Paul were in Colville WA. We stayed in contact until just a few years ago. I would appreciate it if Kathy, Karen or Brad would contact me. Sincerely, Diane Dodson ([email protected])
