There isn't a month that goes by that I don't remember Spencer. As I watch him deal with boys in difficult situations I learned from him. Spencer gave his full support in our Spiritual Life program. He was a good friend.

Spencer was an amazing man. I worked with him at morning star until he retired. He not only taught the kiddos there he taught me. His calm his ease spoke to me especially in a chaotic environment. He made me a better person.

During my time at the boys ranch, I was in need of guidance. Spence not only stepped up to the plate to give me and others guidance, but he saw great potential in me and became a lifelong mentor and a big reason why I joined the United States Navy. Spencer, you were such an inspiration to me that I just want to say thank you , and HOO-YAH, fair winds and following seas brother, Rest In Peace, now that your watch has come to an end, we will carry on, we have the watch now! Love you Spencer.

Dear Susan Kirkeby. Please accept my most sincere condolences with the loss of Spencer. I am remarried and living in South Carolina. You are a big park of my past and the years that I worked for the doctors in Spokane.
Sincerely, Britta Hulbert Couture

Spencer was the dad that all boys at Morning Star wished they had; his example of patience and steadfastness was a 'rock' on which the boys could build as a foundation for their lives. It was a gift to be able to work under them as shift supervisor at Morning Star Boys' Ranch.
