Steven BENNETT Obituary

BENNETT, Steven Steven Michael Kelly Bennett was born in Spokane, WA on April 29th, 1958 to Clarence and Emily Bennett. As the last child of nine, he was taken care of by all of his siblings following the passing of his father at an early age. He was an extremely proud father, caring brother, father figure, and a friend to many. Steve always found the time to help others and his generosity knew no bounds. He was well known for his big heart, never ending forgiveness, meat only meals, knowledge of everything from fixing houses to cars, and downright generosity. He had no limits with the gifts he gave to others; whether it was shelter, food, tools, or just plain advice. Steve loved to spend time with his family and friends. He loved to hit estate and yard sales; and was overjoyed with each good deal he was able to come by. If he had something lying around, and you needed it, he always had more and never thought once about giving you one. Steve enjoyed collecting car parts for the elusive complete vehicle. He enjoyed fishing when he could find time. He provided warmth to individuals' homes through his HVAC business and was always more concerned about helping others than making money. He was amazing with kids and loved his grandchildren: Jacob, Mahala, and Sophia unconditionally. He was our father, sibling, grandpa, uncle, and friend and we are mourning his passing on February 12, 2014. Though his death was unexpected, he will forever live on in the hearts and minds of each and everyone who knew him through the memories he left behind. Steve was preceded in death by his parents: Clarence A. Bennett Sr. and Emily A. Bennett, his sisters: Bonnie Bennett and Maye Perkins and his brother Clarence A. Bennett. Steve is survived by his daughter Latoya Bennett, his son Clarence Bennett and Kassandra and Nichole Johnson; to which he thought of as his own. Steve is also survived by his sisters: Lucille Davis, Mabel Jones, Janice Johnson, Nancy Howe, his brother: David Bennett, and many special nieces, nephews and friends too abundant to name. A Memorial Service will be held at the Emmanuel Family Life Center (631 S. Richard Allen Court) on Sunday, February 16th at 3:00 p.m. Come as you are. Please no flowers; Steve is allergic.
