Theresa DOUVIA Obituary

December 11, 1963 - May 28, 2025

DEER PARK - Theresa Lynne Douvia, 61, of Deer Park, Washington, passed away on May 28, 2025, at home.

Born on December 11, 1963, Theresa moved often in her early years, but the Spokane area was always home in her heart. She met the love of her life, Rod Douvia, at Mead High School and they wed shortly after she graduated. As an adult, she settled in Deer Park, where she raised her family and built a life filled with meaningful routines, stacks of books, a few close friends and humor that could lighten even the heaviest moment.

She was a stay-at-home mom while her children were young and later took a part-time job at the Deer Park Tribune. Within a short amount of time, she worked her way up to general manager, where she happily remained until her retirement.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Jean Gellner and Al Rouleau.

She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Rodney Douvia; her children, Jeanne (Micheal) Flugel and Ryan (Nicole) Douvia; grandchildren, Jackson, Cheyenne, and Brayden; her siblings, Tom (Julie) Rouleau and Eileen Rouleau; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Her family will honor her privately, in keeping with her wishes-with love, quiet reflection, and perhaps a shared smile over a favorite book or a fond memory.
