Thomas BEIL Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas Michael Beil, 71, who went into God's arms on January 5, 2024, after a courageous battle with metastatic prostate cancer. Tom had a great sense of humor and lit up every room he entered. His integrity, kindness and loving spirit will stay with us forever.

Tom was born to Bud and Rozanne Beil, on February 27, 1952, in Spokane, WA. He attended Manito Primary, Comstock and Jefferson grade schools, Sacajawea Jr. High and graduated from Ferris High School in 1970 (Go Saxons!). He graduated with a Business Management degree from the University of Idaho, where he was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity. He later completed an MBA from Gonzaga University.

In 1976, he married Molly (Maralee) Jones and they recently celebrated 47 wonderful years of marriage. They met in college where his fraternity was across the street from Molly's Pi Beta Phi sorority. They were blessed with their two children, Erin, and Michael, who have filled their lives with loving pride and joy.

Tom and Molly loved Maui as well as other destinations and fun family trips. Those memories will live on forever. He also loved spending summers at his Newman Lake family cabin sunning, swimming, and teaching his granddaughters an appreciation of the outdoors (and entertaining them by making water fountains with his "spitter").

Tom was a lifetime banker. He worked at ONB, Sterling Savings Bank, First Interstate Bank, and Wells Fargo Bank where he retired as Senior VP and Regional Manager, Inland Northwest Regional Commercial Banking. Tom was well respected in the business community and during his time at Wells Fargo received two Golden Spoke awards.

Tom was quite athletic, playing football in high school, water skiing, snow skiing, biking and he especially loved to golf. He was also active in many community organizations; Optimist Club, Leadership Spokane, United Way, Meals on Wheels, and his true passion was found at Mobius Discovery Center, where he was Past President of the Board. He and Molly also participated in Ferris HS "Ham on Regal" for eight years and Tom was awarded the "Bud" award for outstanding contribution to the show. It was especially meaningful since the award was created in honor of his dad, Bud Beil.

Tom is survived by his wife, Molly, two children, Erin Heyamoto (Scott) and Michael Beil (Anissa), and his grandchildren, Reiko, June and Quinn who have all filled his heart. He is also survived by his sister, Kathy Robinson (Paul), nephew, John Robinson, step-father, Jerry Winters and step-sisters, Sherie Heimbigner, Terie Lord (David) and Gerie Heard (Dirk).

A service will be held at Hamblen Park Presbyterian Church on Saturday, January 20, 2024, at 2PM. It will also be live streamed and can be viewed at www.hamblenpres.org/live-stream. Donations may be made in Tom Beil's name to Mobius Discovery Center, at 331 N. Post St., Spokane, WA 99201.

The family would like to thank Hospice of Spokane, CCNW (Dr. Blitman and Staff) and Summit Cancer. The family would also like to thank Jessica Winston for her knowledge and nursing support in his final days.

Molly, I am so sorry to learn of Tom´s passing. Tom was a great colleague who was so well balanced in work and life. He was my guide for all things Spokane and together we strove to make a difference -always seeking the best business partners, and aiming to lead in meaningful volunteerism within our community. Tom made a difference; he enriched the lives of those that were fortunate to work with him and to know him. My condolences to you and your family, of which Tom was so proud, in this time of sorrow.

I was a frat brother of Tom's at the University of Idaho. He was a fantastic brother who we all enjoyed. We had some great times as an ATO and we will cherish our memories. Although I have not seen Tom for several years I will think of him often. He was a great man.

I was a fraternity brother of Tom's at the University of Idaho and I remember him well. I remember him as big and goofy with an infectious laugh and an ear to ear grin. I was truly very happy to read that he had a good life and a wonderful family. Gunner Harris

We only knew Tom through Kathy and her stories of family gatherings especially at the lake. So much love in this family and we hope those memories will help you during this difficult time. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

It was a privilege to serve on the Mobius Board with Tom. He set a high bar of leadership, involvement, and effort on behalf of Mobius. May his love and light continue to shine forth on those who knew him.

Oh my heart hurts to read this. Doesn´t seem real. I´m so sorry to Tom´s family, and friends. May God comfort you through this grief. I have great high school memories of Tom and recently at our 50th class reunion. Rest in perfect piece Tom.
