Russell James Buehler

Russell James Buehler 73, of Spokane Washington passed away on October 15th, 2025. Russell, aka Russ, was born on September 13th, 1953, in Spokane Washington, to Dorothea Moore and Howard Buehler. He graduated from Ferris High School in June 1971. Immediately following high school graduation Russ joined the Airforce where he served until 1975, when he received a medical discharge and retirement.

Soon after his departure from the military he opened a bar in Pullman Washington that he ran for several years, becoming a devoted Husky fan. Russ started working as a letter carrier for the US Postal Services in 1982, for most of his career he worked routes out of the Hayes Park office. He retired after 37 years of service in 2019.

Russ enjoyed hunting, fishing, time with his family, holidays, his home in the foothills of Mt. Spokane, going to the casino, target shooting, talking about politics and donating to multiple charities. He was also known for his generosity in general, most of the time he just gave to give, and it didn't matter who or why, it was just in his heart to always help those around him.

Russell is survived by his children; his son Mitch Buehler, daughter Jenny Miller, son Jake Spratt, son in law Jeremie Miller and daughter in law Elisa Spratt. His granddaughters who lovingly called him 'Papa' and/or 'Papa Russ', Kayleigh Doran, Makiah Miller, and Betty Spratt. And one sweet little great-granddaughter Naia Doran.

A celebration of life will be held on November 7th, 2025, at 5:00pm at the Central Grange No. 831 7001 N. Orchard Prairie Rd in Spokane, Washington, for anyone that would like to join.
