Thomas GAYNOR Obituary

Thomas P. Gaynor 85 of Liberty Lake, WA passed away unexpectedly on May 4, 2023. He was born in Wenatchee March 4, 1938, with his twin brother Joe to Mary T. Dowling and Joseph F.N. Gaynor. Tom came from a family of railroaders. His Grandfather Thomas Gaynor was a locomotive engineer on the Erie Lackawanna railroad, and Toms father Joseph was Superintendent of Electrification for the Great Northern Railway in Wenatchee. Tom attended Wenatchee High School, graduating with the class of 1957. He served 8 years in the army reserve in Wenatchee and Havre Montana. He started with the Great Northern Railway in 1960 as an electrician apprentice in Havre, transferring to Seattle for a brief time and then to Spokane in the fall of 1963. He retired after 34 years of service in 1994 due to a disability.

He enjoyed chatting with friends at the local Chevron station, listening to his extensive music collection as well as reading and visiting his favorite shops to search for treasures.

Preceded in death by his parents, twin brother Joe, Sister Mary T. (Mimi) Smith, his wife Gwen, and their beloved dog Bandit. Survived by his niece Mary T. Gaynor of Edmonds, WA, and dear friend Connie Hirst of Hauser Idaho.

No funeral will be planned at his request. His place of rest will be at Spokane Memorial Gardens with his wife Gwen in the Good Shephard Garden Section C.
