Thomas William Monroe MAXWELL

1964 - 2023

Thomas William Monroe Maxwell, 58, man of God, went home to be with his Lord and savior Jesus January 16, 2023. Tom was born 4/3/1964 in Spokane, WA to Jeanie and Monroe Maxwell. He was raised by Kenneth Thain. Tom fought a long battle with COPD, he graduated from East Valley H.S 1987, loved to fish & walk his dog by the river. His favorite job was working at Tacoma Point Defiance Zoo behind the scenes with animals & maintenance work. Tom volunteered many hours at his church for Good Samaritans Operation Christmas Child project. He spent hours feeding & talking with the homeless about Jesus. He loved church potlucks & was known for his fruit salad. He belonged to the Evergreen Club for many years. Tom enjoyed having dinners & watching movies with his sister & brother-in-law. We are all sinners & have made numerous mistakes in our lives, Tom was able to turn his life around & was a loving & kind soul. The Gift of God is Eternal Life & Tom is in a better place now. Proceeded in death by his Father Monroe Maxwell, Mother Jeanie Thain, Step-Dad Kenneth Thain, Sisters Carol Maxwell & Susan Maxwell Mosher, his beloved Labradors Gypsy & Baley. Tom is survived by his sister Julie Maxwell Carpenter & husband Bill Scheres, Nephew's Damien Lynd wife Rosalie, Nicholas Lynd wife Louann, Susan's children Corey Mosher & Mindy Mosher Weakly. A viewing will be held Friday, 1/20/23 10am-2pm Fairmont Memorial Cemetery, Sunset Chapel, 5200 W. Wellesley, Spokane. Tom's service will be held Sunday, 1/22 at 2p.m. at Tom's church, Mending Fences Fellowship, Pastor Kevin Ch'en presiding at 1906 E Sprague, Spokane. Family asks instead of flowers you are welcome to make a donation in Tom's memory to his church.
