Velma Adele KNOBEL

1938 - 2022

Velma Adele Knobel of Spokane passed away peacefully surrounded by family on February 1, 2022, at the age of 83. She was born Velma Scott on April 4, 1938, in Colville, Washington to the late Elmer and Orbie (Laird) Scott.

Velma was one of nine children raised in Colville. She attended Bethany Bible College and left to help her younger brother finish high school, along with her sister Mary, after their mother passed.

Velma settled in Spokane in 1963 and met the love of her life, Harlan in 1967. She worked alongside her husband in their commercial printing business until she retired in 1988. Velma has been a very active member of Valley Assembly of God for nearly 50 years, where she taught Sunday School and volunteered. She loved to volunteer as a Spanish and Typing teacher at Valley Assembly Christian School. She was a very generous person and loved people. She loved to witness and share her testimony about how she was healed from a ruptured brain aneurysm and three bouts of cancer.

She enjoyed playing the piano; and loved to travel especially to Hawaii, and later traveling in the motor home to visit friends and family.

Velma is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Harlan Knobel of Spokane; children, daughter Kim Parco and son-in-law, Fernando of Tracy, CA; Todd Knobel and girlfriend Brandy Chapman of Spokane; and Chris Knobel and wife Corrinne of Spokane. Velma had seven grandchildren that she adored: Alexa, Bailee, Corinne, Carson, Haily, Scotty and Nicalyn. She also leaves behind her sisters Bernice Schuerman and Mary Scott, and brother, Orland (Glen) Scott.

A Celebration of Life will be held on March 19, 2022, at 11:00 AM at Valley Assembly, 15618 E. Broadway Ave., Spokane Valley, WA 99037. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in Velma's name to Hospice of Spokane.
