Viola BURCHETT Obituary

BURCHETT,
Viola Fay
"Faydie"
(Age 96)

Faydie was born on September 11, 1921 to William and Martha (Johnson) Jones.
She passed away March 12, 2018, after a short illness. She was born in Clayton, WA. She was the 12th of 14 children. Her mother died when Faydie was 3 years old and after their house burnt down their family moved to Spokane, WA. She married Gail Gordon Burchett in 1942 and they spent 65 years together. Even as a child she enjoyed hitching a ride to swim in Loon Lake, only 9 miles north of Clayton. She spent every summer of her adult life at Loon Lake. They rented cabins or camped out at Shore Acres Resort until building their cabin in 1959. Their cabin has been a great meeting place for many generations.
Faydie enjoyed being a housewife, bowling, golfing, playing poker, and betting on Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, and football games with her husband. Her most favorite things were her children, grand- children, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren plus every child that crossed her path.
She is preceded in death by her husband Gail Gordon in 2007, her son Timothy Gordon, 1969 in Vietnam, her granddaughter Brenda Gail, 2005 of Indianapolis, Indiana, and her 13 siblings. She is survived by Linda Gail and son-in-law, Jim Myers of Kokomo, Indiana, Karen and son-in-law Rod Feyk and Nancy and son-in-law Bruce Wendelburg of Spokane, WA. She is also survived by grandchildren, Brian Fulwider and fiancée Meenu Saini of Carmel, IN., Amy and Charles Parsons, Krista and Justin Felker of Spokane, WA. Great-grandchildren, Stephanie Gail and Jonathan Bray of Noblesville, IN. The Felker children, Ty Dillon, Jack Gordon and Ella Louise, of Spokane, WA. Great-great-grandsons Brock Nichols and Dylan James Bray of Noblesville, IN.
The family truly appreciates her caregiver, Kris, for the wonderful care and loving friendship she gave Faydie. Because of the wonderful team from Hospice of Spokane, Faydie was able to return to her home of 70 years after a short hospital stay. There she passed peacefully surrounded by her family and her devoted cat, Callie. Pets were always present in the Burchett home and gave Faydie and Gail great joy. Memorial donations may be made to an Animal Shelter in your neighborhood.
There will be a Memorial held at a later date. We are thankful that Jesus wrapped his loving arms around her and took her home.

Faydie was always a joy to talk with whenever I visited her neighbor. She was always smiling and joyful. Prayers to her family.
